The first OPI (oral proficiency interview) will be on Wednesday Feb. 3rd DURING class. (this means that the material for wednesday will be pushed to thursday and so on and so forth).
You will come to class during the following times. You will be with a partner. You guess will then proceed to meet each other for the first time, and have a short conversation. Try to do this naturally: people don't have rehearsed conversations in the street. You can practice, but if it's too formal, I will probably just ask you guys a couple questions to build upon. This is a conversation, not an exam of correctness. This means that you are NOT graded on whether you conjugate verbs correctly and remember all the vocab. You are graded on whether or not you stay in french (even if you make mistakes) and whether you accomplish communication, no matter the level of the communication, so don't be nervous about it, your grade is your effort not your ability.
As you can see below, we have only 5 minutes per group (and some groups I need to sneak in there where there is no time. So the conversations will end up being only 3 minutes or so. Make sure you are on time, and I apologize if the timing doesn't go as smoothly as projected. It's better we take a day in class than do it outside of class.
